Cheese Education: Experience a tasting journey through the cheeses of the world and enjoy the perfect accompaniment – a glass of wine – to finish. You will have all the notes you need to take your new-found knowledge home with you. ($35 per person)
Cake Decorating: If you have ever dreamt of the artistry of cake decorating, join Kerrie Macintosh as she presents three three-hour sessions in this intricate course on cake decorating. End with afternoon tea and a glass of wine. ($300 per person)
Food and Archeology: Take a journey through food and archeology with David Hill. award winning author, Ex Chairman of the ABC, and Head of NSW State Rail. ($70 per person)
Food and medicine. Understand the link between food and medicine with Dr Ken Hillman, Head of Emergency Medicine at Liverpool Hospital.
A history of biscuits: Learn about the history of biscuits through Northern Europe, Scotland, Ireland, Italy, Morocco (and the list goes on).
Children’s cooking classes: Increase your child’s awareness of the food they eat while making food fun. Improve your child’s confidence in the kitchen, tweak their curiosity in food and increase their knowledge. Children’s cooking classes include biscuits and tea cakes, fresh pasta, pizza and olive oil breads, and sliders and burgers.
Gluten free baking: Gluten-free baking does not have to be a chore. The output does not have to be sub-standard. Learn to create tasty, interesting and wholesome gluten-free options straight from the oven.
Masterclass in techniques: Join our poultry deboning masterclass with Charlie Scott (Dr Duck).
Yeasted breads and sourdoughs: Our trademark products are our yeasted breads and sourdoughs. Come and learn what it takes to create beautiful bread (at Blackbird we believe man – and woman – really can live on bread alone).
Forage to fork classes and tours: Our highly sought-after tours will take you through local gardens where we will forage for produce before returning to the kitchen to cook up a storm. You will be learning from iconic local chef’s.
